- What will it cost to have an initial consultation and to get a quote for designing drill for my group
- There is no fee for the initial consultation or to discuss what you are looking for.
- How expensive is it to have custom drill created for my band?
- See our pricing page and how affordable custom drill can be for your group!
How much do follow up design consultations cost?
- It is part of your drill package and there is no limit to how much or how many times we discuss the unique characteristics of your ensemble. This is one of the most important aspects of understanding your groups needs and where our experience is your asset. This is where we want to learn what makes your group unique and take the time to learn as much as we can about your situation and ensemble. Your success is our highest priority.
- How long does it take to create custom drill?
- From the time we have your paperwork, until you receive your complete drill, design can run from six to eight weeks. Summer contracts can be adjusted to give you drill “as you go” so work is provided on time to you while not taking away from already promised work.
- Explain “Drill as you Go”
- This requires a complete packet and payment just as with regular design work. The primary difference is that the drill is delivered in segments or groups at predetermined delivery dates you set. Instrumentation numbers then can be adjusted on the fly providing drill in the next set of pages that needs no further adjustment as you will know exactly who is marching. Depending on contracted date and our volume of work there could be an additional fee which will be discussed up front if it applies to your group.
- I’d like help teaching my drill, are you available to come to my camp or school?
- It’s important to us that we have personal contact with your ensemble. As part of your drill package for those that live within the Ohio area we will at a mutually agreeable day and time attend one of your rehearsals during the season. For those farther away this clinical rehearsal is also available with some compensation for travel. At that time we can answer questions concerning modifications you were considering and help with issues that have come up in your show. Contact us for details.
- If my numbers change after the contract is turned in, can they be changed in the drill?
- You are welcome to change your instrumentation numbers up to the point your show goes into production. If your show is not finished at the point you give us the instrumentation change, we will go forward from that point in the drill with the new numbers. The original drill will be altered if time permits and arrangements are made to compensate for our additional time spent working on your drill. Communication is the key. Call immediately if numbers change!
- We have a show we did (X) years ago and we would like to do it again. Will you adapt the numbers to fit our current instrumentation?
- The short answer is yes. The long answer is you will probably be money ahead to have a new drill designed which often takes less time then adapting an old show. We can take some of the ideas you like from the old show while using modern drill techniques applied to your group. Care also needs to be taken as most shows are produced for use one year and with the cost of paying for the intellectual rights to the old show you could have as much or more invested in a rewrite vs. a fresh new visual approach for your group.
- Is the drill copyrighted?
- Under the terms of the contract the drill remains the intellectual property of the designer for the exclusive use of the client for the specified timeframe.
